Picking the Right Muffler

“An educated consumer is our best customer.” Therefore, it is important to provide enough facts for you to make and educated decision. Engine manufactures consider costs and size over effectiveness when designing their so-called mufflers. FACT: Mufflers & Pipes as complex as SoundMaster are costly to produce. FACT: Mufflers must fit in the engine box. This leads to inadequate muffler capacity.

Today’s higher-powered engines now turn the same size propellers much faster than their predecessors. The more powerful the engine, the larger the muffler needed for increased exhaust gases. Think your engine as a pump. The faster it runs the more hot gas it pumps out. A sport .40 engine running at 11,000 rpm could use a smaller muffler than a hot .45 schnuerle at 15,500 rpm. If you looked at the muffler of both engines you would find they are both the same size. It is not uncommon for manufacturers to use the same size muffler for their .40, .45 or even .50. You can pick a SoundMaster from the attached list and be quite pleased, but you have an opportunity to maximize your engines performance with a tuned muffler.

Remember SoundMaster is a smart investment for several reasons. Most people are using one muffler for two, three or more engines. The universal adapter system allows quick changing of your mufflers. Most engines are burning 10 or 15% nitro for improved idle and transition. These tuned mufflers can run 5% nitro with better performance and a savings on every gallon. SoundMaster allows more fun with extended flying time. You have read expert opinion, but now you will conclude SoundMaster is much more than the only truly quiet muffler. You may find a cheap yet ineffective manifold exhaust, but now you understand the value of a properly designed muffler. So pick the SoundMaster that best suits your present and future needs.
