Developed and patented in 1975, our Cox .049 conversion has been sold all over the world in tens of thousands. This conversion allowed modelers with no prior experience in diesel or model engines for that matter to easily succeed. It gave the engine better mileage and the ability to use larger props for greater performance. This conversion fits the Cox .049-.051 and also the Norvel .049-.061.

Developed in 1975 and a must for all converted Cox .049 reed valve engines as well as those that employ very high nitro fuel for mouse racing. This crank is made from high performance chrome-moly steel and is built and balanced the same as all large model engines and has an extended bearing surface. Accept no substitutes; other such cranks are made from low carbon steel and are not in the same league when it comes to strength.
Developed expressly for all Cox .049/.051 engines, this piston ball socket reset tool fixes a problem suffered by all Cox engines as they stretch the socket in the bottom of the piston that retains the ball end of the connecting rod. This play causes the piston to not travel up fully causing a loss of compression and thus power. By placing the piston in the well of the holding fixture and striking the bottom of the socket with the precision form of the reset tool, the play is removed.
This is a very helpful, all stainless steel engine cylinder cleaning brush and is made with tiny .003" bristles for the bore diameter. You simply insert it into the bottom of the cylinder, twirl a few times and all the varnish is removed, stopping heat retention caused by the varnish. More importantly, it puts small oil retention scratches around the inside of the cylinder wall, creating micro hone lines. In a small engine friction is your enemy and you have just significantly reduced it. We have found power increases of over 1000 RPM after cleaning. So, if you have some old Cox engines you want to put new life into or hop-up your favorite TD this is the answer. Sold in two sizes, one for Cox .020 and one for Cox .049/.051.
